Accessibility statement.
This statement explains how the site meets accessibility requirements and where we know work is still outstanding.

Target level
The site is built to WCAG 2.1 level AA. We believe it meets the requirements to the extent described below. The statement has not yet been confirmed by an external audit.
What has been done and measured
These were verified by measurement rather than by eye:
- Text and background contrast is calculated for every colour pair, and all pass AA. Text set over photographs was measured against the real pixels behind it, with the overlays accounted for.
- The smallest type is 16 pixels. Every size is set in rem, so the browser’s own text-size setting works.
- The site can be operated by keyboard alone. Focus is always visible, and a skip link leads straight to the content.
- Heading levels run in order and every page has exactly one h1. Heading line breaks were audited so words do not break mid-syllable.
- Motion respects the browser’s prefers-reduced-motion setting. The scroll-driven hero is replaced by a single still image when it is set.
- Every meaningful image has alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Form fields have programmatically associated labels, and errors are announced to screen readers.
- The site works without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel viewport.
- The cookie banner does not trap focus and does not block reading the page before a choice is made.
Known shortcomings
These are outstanding:
- The statement has not been confirmed by an external accessibility audit. One is intended before launch.
- The home page hero is a scroll-driven image sequence. Its subject is described in a text alternative, but the sequence is not narrated frame by frame.
- The site has not yet been tested with people who use assistive technology daily. Automated and manual testing is not a substitute for that.
